Noah Turned 1

I really wanted to do a post on Noah's birthday party. We kept it small and simple. We ended up firing up the grill and had ourselves a little BBQ. I'm not sure where this tradition was started but I made him a little birthday cake all for himself. I've only seen it done here in Utah and I thought I would copy it. It was probably the highlight of the night. Watching him go to town on his cake was one of the most amusing things I've ever seen. Here see for yourself...

 The end.

Liam you'll forever be my prince. Thank you for making me laugh today out loud. I sure needed it. Made my day a lot easier. I love you very much, Mum.

Happy Birthday Noah

Today you turn one year old. I cant believe you were born 12 months ago today! You have been nothing but a blessing in our family. Your face lights up the whole room when ever you walk in to it. Your big brother Liam just adores you. You both make each other laugh and  what an incredible thing he is for you to have. Your Dad and I are important, yes, but your big brother is everything to you.

You're already walking, speeding in and out of rooms, up and over every obstacle in your way. I love how you say La La La (Moo, Baa La La La super cute book) whenever you see your favorite book and bring it to me and sit on my lap so I can read it to you. You smile ear to ear the whole time.

Your such an active child. You are walking all over the place. At times I see you trying to run and you usually fall and hit your head. I wait for the thud of your head on the floor followed by the wail. I'm quick to run and make sure your okay. You just get back up and try again. I love that you move on and easily forget. But at the same time your sensitive and take everything to heart which means you usually  take advantage of me trying to soothe you and stay a little while in my arms. (I really don't mind)

Your not whiny at all. We don't hear a peep out of you. You just roll with the punches. Specially when Liam is wrestling you. Dad and I are all up in your biz trying to help and your just smiling away thinking its hilarious that Liam is sitting on you. Your the most content and laid back little guy we know! Yes there were periods when your four upper teeth were coming in (bouts of diarrhea) but overall you have been pretty much the most delightful baby on the planet. Your smiles & giggles are contagious because you're generally just so happy about being alive. However, your a Mummy's boy alright, we are working on the separation anxiety, whenever we leave you with family or friends. Just so sad.

Noah, there could not have been a more perfect addition to our family. Heavenly Father knew exactly who to send down to make our family complete. Honestly, you are pure joy, a bundle of electrifying awesomeness that just keeps getting better.

I can't wait to celebrate your Birthday this evening with your own little cake to dig into. We love you and thank you for allowing us to raise you. We cherish the gift that you are and LOVE you very much.

Happy birthday, my special little man!

Love,

Mummy and Daddy.

P.S I'm a little sad that my little man is 1 already. I just wasn't ready for this! :(

Your sad face melts my heart every time

Soccer Ends :(

On Monday Liam played his last game of soccer for the season. He played his best game ever. He scored a few goals, one for the turtles (his team) and another for the opposing. I still cheered him on. He played his little heart out. After the game everyone received a trophy. He loves his trophy, I think he slept with it that night. We thoroughly enjoyed soccer for the first time. I'm really going to miss it. We all are. Liam your a true soccer champ, thanks for being so great and we can't wait till you play in the MLS professionally so we can be RICH!
{I'm allowed to dream, right?}

Pumped to be playing soccer!

Noah

I honestly can't believe our baby Noah is 10 months, where has the time gone? I'm having a hard time with this. I didn't think I ever would, but I am. I love having a baby in the house, there is no other feeling like it. Knowing that a piece of me, that I 'made' is sleeping in the other room or sitting on the couch giving you cuddles. Because of this, I kind of understand now why mother's keep on having babies...

A little update on Noah...

  • Started walking last week! He looks so cute. He does a baby Frankenstein walk. His preferred mode of transportation at the moment. Crawling was so last season.
  • He has a new fake cry with a scrunched up nose and squints his eyes when he wants something.
  • Grabs my blackberry and pretends to talk on the phone.
  • He loves to drink from a cup (preferably with nothing in it, cause he cant control the flow and chokes).
  • When I start singing his lullaby (Kiss of Life by Sade) he will always start singing.
  • Follows his big brother Liam around everywhere.
  • His face lights up whenever Liam walks into the room.
  • Biggest mooch ever! He does a little rock (backwards and forwards) until you give him whatever your eating.
  • Eats whatever we eat. Gotta love that. Actually he loves to eat in general (all the time).
  • Favorite food to eat: Strawberry's.
I had to post these pictures of Noah doing this face...

He can eat a pound of strawberry's like its his job!

Yes I do have urges to eat him!

Loves this face!

Rugged up watching his big brother playing soccer.

He such a good little guy. His the most happiest in our arms or laps.
He has been a joy to mother. We dearly love our little Noah. He is a top guy.
He fills the house with love and laughter.
We love you so much!!

They're in my heart, deep inside.

A Mother's love.
My heart expands everyday for these little munchkins.
I find with each day I reach deep down for more strength.
My trials are not over. My heart aches knowing this.
I have so much to learn and so much to give.
I struggle to stay on top of everything.
Yet I still smile at the end of a hard day.
I say, hold them close, they'll never be this age again.
Patience. My most feared virtue.
Working on this everyday.
Slow to anger, is what it means to me.
I love my children.
Wherever you are, is where my heart belongs.
They can always count on this, no matter what.

A woman who treasures motherhood on earth will treasure motherhood in the world to come, and “where her treasure is, there will her heart be also” (Matt. 6:21).

Soccer

On Monday Liam had his first soccer game, we were all really excited for him to play. Clint is the assistant coach and Rourke is the coach. They make a good team. Liam's best buddy, Judson is also on the same team. They have a good mix, Greeks, Hispanics, Aussies, Americans, what more do you need. I loved watching him play, its really funny to watch a bunch of 4 y.o chasing after the ball.

This is his new photo face. (seriously cute)

Both looking like a couple of strikers!
(Judson)

 Goaaaaal!!!
Although he cried most of the second half and sat in Dad's lap cause he wanted to be goalie.
We are proud of him!

Liam's cheering squad!
Noah did escape a few times on to the field to join the game.
Pretty soon little guy Liam will be cheering for you...

Our Noah

We are so in love with this little guy.
He truly has brought sunshine into our little family
and we love him so much.
If I am away from him for more then an hour,
I start to crave his little smile, smell, baby talk,
cuddles well pretty much everything.
He has made my life  so much more fulfilling and
I just can't get enough of
him. He has the best temperament. His face
lights up whenever I look at him and it melts
my heart every time. I never get tired of holding
him. I find myself sometimes impatiently
waiting for him to wake up from a nap so I can play
with him! (yes, crazy) but true.
Noah, we are deeply, madly, truly in love with you!

Liam and Noah from Birth to 8 months
